Brooklyn Frontiers in Science Public Lecture

Architecture in NanoSpace
Sir Harold Kroto
The Florida State University

Prof. Kroto will describe his pioneering work in the development of nanotechology. His personal reflections of the discovery of C60 (buckminsterfullerene) which has lead to the explosion of research in carbon nanotubes provide an entertaining evening of discussions on nanoscience. The fascinating field of nanoscience and nanotechnology encompassing chemistry, biology and physics and has attracted significant public attention. He will describe how chemists are developing ingenious methods to prepare complex, exactly-defined structures with specific functions in order to drive nanotechology forward. Prof. Kroto will discuss the production of nanomaterials using a "bottom-up self-assembly" approach. The evening promises to be entertaining and informative to all
